Ambient Noise from The Quagga Project.
Quagga were once found in great numbers in the Karoo of Cape Province and the southern part of the Orange Free State in South Africa.

CHannel 1: drum machine track created in Garage Band.

CHannel 2:  bass guitar... BOSS SD1 Level@5, Tone@0, Drive@4; BOSS CE3 Rate@4, Depth@6, Stereo Mode I Output A, Fender BassMan amp simulator (AmpliTube). Bass riff conceptualized/ derived/ inspired from two Police bass lines ("Voices in My Head" and "Walking in Your Footsteps") although the actual bass line played resembles neither one.

CHannel 3: guitar 1... BOSS DM3, BOSS DD2... Bsus4 chord strummed throughout 

CHannel 4: guitar 2... BOSS DM3, BOSS DD2, BOSS BF2... open B string "sound on sound" rhythm played against the drum machine and rhythm guitar to create the in-sync/out-of-sync noise.

CHannel 5: voice over track using SIRI to read the text selection through BOSS SD1 and BOSS CE3 with same settings used for the bass guitar.

The Orange Free State was an independent Boer sovereign republic in the southern part of Africa during the second half of the 19th century. It was later a British colony and a province of the Union of South Africa.
